February 2018 marks 70 years since the communists took power in Czechoslovakia in a coup d’etat.
On this occasion, The Cambridge University Czech & Slovak Society (CUCSS), Cambridge Central and Eastern European Forum and Pembroke Foreign Films bring you the film screening of “The Teacher” (2016), a Slovak drama about life in the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic during the “normalisation” period of 1980’s.

The film screening will be followed by a discussion with a Cambridge-based academic focusing on Eastern European history, Dr. Hubertus Jahn and Dr Jana Howlett, Emeritus lecturer in Slavonic Studies.
