Cambridge Central European Conference 2018: Prague Spring and its legacies
Commemorating the 50 years since the Prague Spring period in Czechoslovakia and the Warsaw Pact Invasion in August 1968, the Cambridge Central European Conference – Prague Spring and its Legacies, aims to bring attention to the way the cataclysmic events of 1968 have affected the social, cultural and political developments of the Czech Republic and Slovakia. In relation to this, the project aspires to encourage stronger interest in the region which is currently becoming increasingly important on the global scale. The format of the event will include panel discussions with prominent speakers, which are to be led in a friendly semi-formal atmosphere. After the discussions, we would like to invite the participants to join us for us a small reception, a showcase of the local food and our cultures.
